So, we have nine players left alive, of whom five are vampires. The vampires should now be able to stake whomever they please.

Interestingly the last two nights the vampires successfully rolled a 5+ followed by a 6+ (or a 4+ followed by a 5+ if they risked the master to convert). That is assuming that both conversions succeeded, since we haven't had any claim of failed vampire attack.

I'm voting for subbero. He didn't vote for fermun initially, voted in favour of every time we've staked a human and only voted for fermun after his staking was inevitable.

In the name of actually murdering someone, I hereby change my vote to subbero.

While I inherently distrust anything resembling logic or reason, i have been convinced we ought to stake ubbero

I might be mistaken here but I would expect based on the rules of the game that if the vampires ever get a majority that we lose outright and that the game would be called.  Clarification from Steelfan might be needed on this, but I find it most likely that we are in a 4/5 or 3/6 situation with the vamps right now.

I'm voting to stake Gudamor.  I mean, the first round he votes in, a human gets staked.  Three days into the game.  I don't like it.

Since Steelfan hasn't updated the thread lately, here's the tally (I won't be coloring these because I am lazy).

Snips - subbero
Chronicles - Gudamor
jimbob -
Gudamor -
Gitro - subbero
BSam -
Remington - Gudamor
88FingersLouie - subbero
subbero - Gudamor

We're two votes away from a staking for Guda or subbero at this point.

Not acting isn't a good idea for the vampires, though. They know who they are and there'd been 2 humans staked at that point, he could have easily been active in the game and supported our completely understandable mistakes or jumped on the fermun bandwagon the second time around.

Steelfan, what exactly do we get notified of?

Remington is right that as soon as the minority bad side in a game like this has the majority they are instantly winners (they now have the numbers to overwhelm without deception and can freely go about their business in the day.) If there were five vampires in nine living players I wouldn't make you guys go through the pointless exercise of two more rounds as they killed off the last four.

As for what you learn, anybody who is staked is revealed as human/vamp however if the cleric or hunter were to die by staking without identifying themselves before death, or be converted in the night in the case of the cleric, you would not be notified. The only way for sure an identity would be discovered and confirmed by the admin would be if the hunter is killed in the night, since he would die of poison, not bite.

So, for this round, as nobody has been poisoned and no dead players have revealed a hidden identity, there could be neither/either/both the cleric and hunter still in play for the villagers, of which there remain at least five.

OK, so there have been some failed conversions, only the victims haven't told us about them. That makes more sense.

It also leaves us clueless. We simply don't have enough information to make even vague guesses who is a vampire.

Yeah, it was slightly suspicious that Gudamor changed his mind about staking after such a spurious argument from Chronicles, but does that make Gudamor any more suspicious than Chronicles? If anything, it makes it look like they were conspiring to encourage us to stake each time, but that is seemingly belied by Chronicles repeatedly voting to stake Gudamor.
We can find (weak) reasons to suspect everyone. We're still stabbing in the dark, and that just makes us vulnerable to being played by the vampires. Only they know exactly whom they want to be staking, so someone saying "get him" without a strong reason just makes me not want to vote in that direction.

So no one's informed about failed conversions and there's no repercussions for the vamps? Since killing is guaranteed unless the cleric's still around, and even then very likely, it doesn't really make sense for the vamps to have done nothing.

I maintain that it's suspicious as hell that the only time subbero restrained from voting was when a vampire was up to be staked.

The circle of villagers slowly closed in on Gudamor, stakes at the ready. Sensing his doom was ever so impending, Gud made one last final play.

"Look, over there! It's a nerd," he shouted, pointing behind the group.

As one, eight heads turned to look over their shoulders to see that fuckin' nerd, who surely fuckin' sucked. And there was nothing, for they had been bamboozled. Swiveling back to where Gud once stood the villagers just had time to see his form disappearing behind a closed door in his own home.

"We really need to learn to turn our heads faster," Lee said.

"Yeah, because good is not very fast at all," BSam agreed.

"Plus, he usually gets stuck in his door frame," Snips added. "You know, because he is so fat."

The villagers words were sharp, and hurt poor Gud's feelings, but at least they did not pierce his innards. Feeling good about the whole not dying thing, Gud sat down and poured himself a bowl of Corn Flakes. As he crunched away, a sudden feeling of dread swept over him. Grasping desperately for the box, he turned it to face him. They weren't Corn Flakes at all, they were.... CORN STAKES!!!!!!

"This doesn't seem physically possible," Gud cried. "They didn't even know they would stake me until a minute ago and I'm the only one who came in. Were this murder not actually happening, but rather just some part of a fictional narrative I would insist it has quite a few logical plot holes."

But he had no further time to think about it, because the stakes had all stabbed him and he was dead. Super dead. The kind of dead only a non-vampire villager can be.
