Every day is Meth Day in my house. Except Sunday. That is the day we reserve for worship.

Foreign food day. If you haven't made it before and isn't a dish typical of your country, then it applies.

After Burger Day, I'd go with VoodooTissue and the 'foreign stuff you ain't made before' suggestion.

I have no idea yet what I'd make, but as curry is now a staple of British cuisine it won't be a biriyani or a massala.

Let us not let the Food forum die from lack of use.

Why not have something that everyone can make?

Potatoes!

Chips, or mash, or roasties, rosti, potatoes as a topping, potato cakes, anything involving taters...

Any variations welcome.

Better plan: Chili day! I know all of you mongs can, and do, make chili. I'll even submit my super-fucking-awesome homemade teximexi veggie-free wonder chili.

Chili day is a great idea, especially when people start stabbing each other over whether the presence of kidney beans is blasphemous or not. I'd be on board for that.

I love Chili, nearly as much as I love stabbing people.

Let's do this.

I vote for Potato Day.

Not that I don't like chili, but I made an enormous pot of it last week and I'm starting to get a bit over it after having it for dinner and lunch five days in a row.  Also Potato Day has more scope for variety.

I'll vote for chili because I might be awful at making it, but it's still better than anything you cam make with potatoes.

Sounds like you're just awful at cooking in general.

Seriously, out of those two it has to be potato.

You can generally tell when something is cooked well from photos, but if we go chili there are no points for presentation up for grabs. It's just one kind of slop or another. Potato you can at least appreciate the golden brown of a perfectly roasted potato, or the etc of some other example.

I don't think I've ever cooked a potato that wasn't a chip, so I'm voting potato, or poetahtoe.

I re-nominate pasta day. It's general enough to encompass many different types of dishes, and all levels of chef-ery (from homemade noodles to store-bought shells stuffed with stuff to box spaghetti with something interesting on it to ramen).
