Friday, May 28 - Jaa rode an elephant to a Buddhist temple in Surin, Thailand, where he shaved his head, took vows, and was officially ordained as a Buddhist monk.

Because of the martial arts thread, I had watched Ong Bak and Warrior King(The Protector) in the last few weeks. Checking to see what else he was going to make brought up this news.

I guess being a monk isn't a lifelong commitment so there is a possibility he'll come back and make some more awesome movies.

Yeah, in Thailand becoming a monk is just a thing a guy does when he wants some peace and quiet to get his head together, like how in America you take a trip to the desert or how in Britain we kill ourselves in the garage with a bottle of vodka and a rubber hose.
