Short new snippet/sample on Kanye's site. Just scroll over the CD.

A CDQ snippet of New Slaves has popped up at various sites online then been taken down. This should work

Wouldn't it be cool if this one was as good as College Dropout boy that would be just dandy.

If you want Kanye's new albums to sound anything like a specific past one, it should always be MBDTF because that shit is fucking perfection

I mean it's alright, it brought Kanye above water after 808's. And I even liked 808's (yeah I said it, fight me in the streets), but it and MBDTF don't really have that objectively good quality of College Dropout. I know that's an oxymoron when talking about music, but there really is something so tight-wound at CD's core that makes it true 40/40 famitsu material. Like every track, goddamn. Watch the Throne even had duds. I guess I'm still chasing that idealized notion of that "perfect" album, that a dude who did it once before could do it again.

Late Registration is better than College Dropout anyway

Either of the first two are better than MBDTF, you are wrong EFHRK.

The only logical way to solve this problem is to see how many songs from each album I keep on my "preferred" rap playlist:

College Dropout: 10/14
Late Registration: 11/15
MBDTF: 9/13

While I may think of MBDTF as his best, the numbers say Late Registration. Most "kickin rad" songs and best "kickin rad" to "fine but I don't always want to bump" ratio.

Actually, I just realized I was counting "Who Will Survive in America" as a song.

MBDTF: 9/12

MBDTF come from behind winner! Less "kickin rad" songs than the others, but best ratio by a hair.

Going by individual tracks, yes, College Dropout/Late Registration are clear winners, but I think as a whole, MBDTF is an incredible album and a near experience to listen to from start to finish. It oozes creative talent from both Kanye and his features. This is rap as art.

But really though my favorite is MBDTF because it represents the evolution of Kanye's music. It combines the soul & wit of CD, the orchestral strings and dynamic production of LR, the bombast of Graduation and the emotion of 808s. I love the way the songs build, the different movements, the features and the sequencing.
