Hodgy Beats dropped a new EP today. It's pretty alright, it's got some neat production from Juicy J, Alchemist and FlyLo.

if that's not enough for you listen to this

#The1st28, a new EP from Curren$y and Styles P

Consignment, a massive new mixtape from street rapper Boldy James

Blu Tops, an EP by prolific producer Ski Beatz, two members of Dipset (Cam'ron & Vado) and a really dope singer by the name of McKenzie Eddy

And here's my review of KiD CuDi's new album, WZRD

late night edit:

this popped up in my itunes. it's from like october. don't know how i never listened to it but good lord it's dope.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrUmsXYZyAA" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrUmsXYZyAA</a>

Anyone listening to the new Lil B release, God's Father?  I don't understand how he just goes and drops a 34 track "mixtape" for free. What's even more mind-boggling is how this is probably his most coherent release to date.  At points, B reaches levels comparable to weezy at his best.  Also really love how the tracks start a little over 4 min. long but by the end of the album they're around 2 min.

yeah i gave it a spin earlier, it's fantastic. rivals "im gay" for one of his best releases since like, red flame. it's interesting how lil b explores different styles and concepts with each release, it makes for consistently entertaining listening. it seemed like on this tape he was mostly going for a lyrical mid-90s new york rap feel but with his signature stream-of-consciousness. plus the production's as great as ever, "glourious basedgod" is a standout. this was probably my favorite cut after just an initial listen:

here's the tape if you want it

Totally.  Real Hip Hop 2012 and SF Mission Music channel this the most.  Secret Obsession blew me away in terms of it's structure.  It's all chopped up and staccato but with a fluid and coherent story.   Also laughed pretty hard at the cats skit:

"Ayo B got any adopted cats for sale?"  "Yeah bitch I got some" "hahahaha stop cursing"

Otherwise though, it's just waaay too long, I'm gonna have to figure out a way to make my own cut.

Has anyone listened to that new Main Attrakionz ep, "cLOUDLIFE"?  Before God's Father, it was pretty much dominating my headphones.

Here's a link if you want to check it out:

i was unaware that existed, the last main attrakionz release i have is "808s and dark grapes II". any releases by them i need to have? i've also got "main attrakionz hip-hop" and "best duo ever: the greentape". that's one of those groups that's hard to figure out what's officially part of their discography because they have so much music floating around

here's a new track called "can't you see" by a.dd+, one of my favorite young southern acts

Along with Danny Brown they're my favourite thing happening in hip-hop at the moment. One of their qualities is how damn prolific they are with their releases so the list of stuff you should get hold of is pretty long but it's so goddamn good. I'd say you NEED, Blackberry Ku$h,Chandelier and I Smoke Because I Don't Care About Death. Honestly it's hard find bad stuff by them, definitely worth getting all the free stuff here.

You should also get up on some of the other Green Ova releases outside of Main Attrakionz. These two in particular are worth getting hold of. Shady Blaze is a fucking unreal rapper, dude double times with ease.

Action Bronson - Blue Chips This mixtape fucking SLAPS and is a perfect encapsulation of why I think Bronson is dope.

Wiz Khalifa - Taylor Allderdice. I've never been a big Wiz fan but I'm giving this a spin soon.

King I Divine & Scienze - Divine Scienze

Polyester The Saint - Real Deal P. CREEZ

So the Odd Future Volume 2 tape leaked and it's fucking brutal. Full of jazzy and bass-cracking posse cuts. My favorites are 50 by MellowHype (kind of a Hodgy/Left Brain ode to Flocka club bangers) Doms by Domo Genesis (Domo basically owns the tape from the very first verse in my opinion) and Oldie a goddamn 10 minute long hookless killer featuring a verse by Earl Sweatshirt

holy shit, the guy throwing money and then hiding behind the bar had me dying. pretty refreshing to see a freestyle where the guy actually freestyles. exquire rocks.

unrelated note, if you don't watch nardwuar interviews then you're a sucker

Love Nardwuar interviews but sometimes I wish he would do follow-up questions instead of sticking to his scripted stuff.  It's always entertaining to watch how artists react to the obscure facts he finds but he rarely gets into why those facts are relevant.  Like, what was the story behind Canine and Lamar?  They were obviously classmates but how did they get into rapping?  Was it just playground freestyles?  Do they still stay in touch?  It's great and all for Nardwuar to flex that he knows this tiny bit of information but it's worthless for the viewer if all Lamar does is confirm that this small fact is true.

With that said, still better then 99% of the interviews out there and dude's got a killer sense of humor, "The hood tours of Halifax" had me cracking up.

Has anyone been listening to the Big K.R.I.T. mixtape, 4eva n' a day? I know I'm late to the party but it's gotta be the most life-affirming hip-hop this side of Based music.
