So for my Halloween costume, I went to Goodwill trying to throw something together in the two hours before the party I was attending. I decided on a theme of "Time Travelling Wizard Businessman" and found some pretty interesting garments and accoutrements to accompany this thought process of mine.

I headed home and threw it all on, attempting to create my visage as something I felt captured the spirit of my original idea. Yet, after donning all I had purchased, plus a few items from my own eclectic wardrobe, it still wasn't quite right. It was devoid of that special something. Then it occurred to me: a scarf. I rummaged through my winter clothes, which I still had packed away, as it was just now beginning to evolve into the colder climates of this time of year. I pulled out a wonderful orange accessory and draped it around my neck. It wasn't until then that I had noticed my accidental triumph.

I was Doctor Who.

which reminds me because I was going to post this in the sanctorum thread but shouldn't because I don't want to have to think about whether or not it makes sense:

the word bitch is obviously sexist and has obvious sexist connotations regardless of the context in which it is used and to suggest that because you can use it to describe personal behavior it is different from fag or n***er is insane and asinine because it creates a false contrast in which one word which has social connotations somehow gets to be utilized differently from other words which have similar social connotations just because you use it more often
